I want to have a Safe but Happy delivery. The idea of laying on my back for 24 hours is not exactly what I expect when I am giving birth.
I want more of a family atmosphere
I don’t want a Home delivery birth but I do want something other then a hospital.

There are birthing centers all over the place. A lot of insurance companies do cover them. They’ll make you much more comfortable. Maybe you could even try a water birth.

you can go to a birthing center. Its like a very small, private hospital. I don’t no much about them but I think its just a few Midwives and just a few patients so you can get alot more one on one time and they can spend more time showing you different birthing exercises and stuff. You should do some research on them and see if there is one in your town

go to a birthing center( midwifes run it i think?) !! call your insurance and see if they cover those type of births and see who they cover. then call the places to make an appointment and see if you are able to have you baby there! (i think you have to have a perfect pregnancy practically and have a healthy baby because it is not a hospital and can rush you in to the OR or if your baby need the NICU)

Do you have just a birthing centre near you? Some of them are actually in the hospital, here in Australia at the hospital where I delivered there is a Family Birthing Unit where they have a double bed and the room looks like your bedroom, and your husband can stay overnight, its a really great idea but I didnt like it because you can only stay for 24 hrs then you go home, but looking back now I didnt likw being in hospital much so I kind of wished I of done it that way. Some of the centres are out by themselves but if you have a big hospital near you they will most likely have a family birthing unit there, its much more relaxed and not so hospital, but have you looked a home birth??? even if you spoke to some women who have had home births and see what they say, I am def having a home birth next time around

I guess it all really depends on where you live.
It is possible to have a midwife do a delivery at a hospital.
That is what I did.
That way, your delivery isn’t as invasive and your care is more personal.
Also, I have heard of birthing centers..places where you would go to give birth, with pools and such.

You can search for hospitals in cities near you that have comfortable labor and delivery wards. I have seen them on TV and I sure wish we had a place like that, although I **** to think of the cost lol.
And don’t worry yourself over being in labor for hours upon hours. Its not always like that. And if you are, you can get up and move freely if you wish , of course if no epidural has been administered. You can check into birthing centers or midwives.
personally I am very grateful I delivered my daughter in a hospital. You never know the complications that could come with a delivery and being in a facility where my child will be cared for to the fullest ability of medical staff makes me feel great. She had a low heart rate during pushing and the cord was wrapped twice around her neck. The encouragement of the nurses and all of their wonderful attitudes made me feel safe and comfortable in the room.
I could have cared less about MY comfort, though. All I cared about was the safety of my daughter.

My hospital had a birthing center. One floor of the hospital was decated to birthing. the rooms had comfy furnishings for visitors, a nice television with VCR/DVD player, and a nice walk in shower. They allowed you to bring in cds, iPod, or anything else from home that makes you comfortable. You can even bring your own pillows. You can also walk around the halls or use a birthing ball until your water breaks.

While the birthing center is definitely an option, not all hospitals are unfriendly in that aspect. Many have birthing centers within them, or areas that are homey and more welcoming to future parents. And depending on your practice, you can be seen exclusively by midwives who can deliver the baby as well. Many hospitals have hot tubs and birthing suites that are less like hospitals and more like home. Check out the ones in your area that your doctor has privileges at and see what they’re like.
Just a thought.

You should look into a birth center. I’m not sure where you live, but most areas have birth centers which are an alternative to a hospital or home delivery. Usually midwives are the primary care giver and the focus is on natural pain relief. I’ll send you the link to the birth center near me and hopefully you’ll be able to find something similar in your area and see if it’s right for you. Good luck to you!
