How much did you weigh when you walked out the hospital door?
April 14th, 2009 | by Rick |Fenway♥George asked:
I am just curious to hear how much weight you lost when you left the hospital after having your little one. I am 34 weeks and I have gained 28 lbs…. How much did you gain total? I honestly don’t really care about my weight as much (I’m thankful I have finally got to this point!), I just want my little boy to be healthy…. But I was still interested to hear how much weight you gained and how much you lost right after having your baby. Thanks.

I lost weight during my entire pregnancy…all in all, I was fifty pounds lighter than when I went in…and there isn’t any way that it could have been all baby, cuz mine was 6 pounds 6 ounces!

I weighed 160 before I got pregnant. I gained a lot of weight from toxemia. When I walked out the door of hospital I weighed 208. I lost 20 when I had him. It’s depressing gaining all that weight and not being able to control it.

I was very lucky with that. (I take after my mom) I only gained 16 lbs. throughout my pregnancy (I’m small to begin with), it was all belly, and I lost it all right after I had my baby. I was 108 at my first doctor’s visit, got up to 124, then at my first visit after baby I was at 105, my normal pre-pregnancy weight. However, just so no one hates me, since I had my baby I’ve put on a lot of weight, so now I weigh more than I did when I was pregnant! How pathetic…

I was 125 lbs before I got pregnant, 168 lbs right before I had my son and about 150 lbs. when I got home from the hospital. My son weighed almost 9 lbs. I have never fussed about my weight because I have always been on the thin side but it was pretty hard to lose the baby weight. Although my husband thinks I am much cuter now that I have a little more “padding”. Right now, my son is 7 1/2 months and I am about 135 lbs.
I read somewhere that the amount of weight you lose having the baby is 15- 20 lbs on average. Depending of course on how big your baby is. Hope that helps :0)

I had gained 30 pounds exactly when I was pregnant. I was 140 the afternoon I went into labor (I was at my very last prenatal appt. and the doctor accidentally broke my waters!) and the next morning, my son was finally born. When I was home, I weighed myself. I had lost half the weight, but then I became bedridden for 7 weeks. My son is 6 and a half months old and I’m at 130…only because I don’t exercise too often and love junk food. That’s going to change once new year’s rolls around, though!

Gained about 40 pounds (I am tall) and went home about 20 pounds lighter, lost about 5 more in the first week as my belly deflated, and took about 6 months to lose the rest.

I was 94lbs before the pregnancy, and topped off at 126lbs. After I had her, I lost 15lbs all at once after the birth, but it didn’t all come off till after 7 weeks. Now I’m down to (a healthy) 92lbs.

I gained 50 lbs, and weighed 170 when I went into labor. Two days later, I’d only lost 12 lbs, and my daughter was almost 9 of that. She is 7 months old now and I’ve gotten back down to 130 with very little effort. Gotta love breastfeeding!

I was induced and had a emergency c-section. When I got home I was excited to see how much I lost and I freaked out when I saw I actually gained 6lbs! Must have been all the IV fluids!

I weighed 108 when I got pregnant. At the end of my pregnancy, I weighed 142. When I left the hospital, I weighed 132. A week later, I weighed 120, and a week after that I weighed 112. My son is six weeks old now, and I’m still trying to lose those last four pounds. And, I do not breastfeed (everyone says you lose the weight faster when you breastfeed, but I honestly don’t think there’s a difference based on my own experience)
