‘Medicare’ is a federal program, and does not particularly cause hospitals to fail.
Hospitals with emergency rooms are expected to provide emergency care to anyone, even if uninsured and/or illegal, and the large influx of illegals has been a financial burden on them.
Hospitals cannot legally or morally stop providing emergency care, however. Requiring them to report illegals, however, would be helpful - /if/ said illegals are promptly deported.

let look at the numbers, there are about 300 million people in the US, about 30 million are minorities to include illegals, so, that would mean basically that only minorities go to the hospital.

It is not Medicare that they are supplying to the illegals. It is the fact that the illegals use the emergency room as a doctor visit and then have no insurance or cash to pay for the care they receive. The hospitals cannot continually pick up this cost without having to eventually close their doors.

I think who ever told you this information is lacking… if anything it would be that illegals are getting medical care and have no insurance (not medicare, for which they are not eligible).
Hospitals are paying way to much for administrative fees like any other company that is traded on the stock market. Plus have you been in a hospital…they are criminals. They have so many different prices depending on how you are paying. So when they say they have a loss its kind of like a forcaster making a prediction in the stock market… there is no real proof that the money was ever going to be there to begin with. I can say something costs 129,000 but if it only costs 65$ and the rest is a loss it is mostly for tax reasons I say that so I dont have to pay as much in taxes.
California has so many people there as refugees and the state actually pays them to live if they cant find jobs or assimulate along with the feds that are paying for these refugees that have never paid into our system at all. THIS is why the state is having problems along with the fed govt not having the social security system in place as of 2016… last I heard.

Absolutely - here in Chicago, we just closed another hospital - St. Francis - 99% of patients uninsured/illegals - they even tried to give the hospital away for free, no takers - why? Neighborhood mostly illegal, never a chance for a profit -

How come you have to produce an insurance card at most places before they will even triage you, and but the illegals can’t even speak English, have no id, not to mention an insurance card, and they get seen - send Mexico a bill that they can pay from all of the money the illegals send back - maybe that will stop them from encouraging illegals from coming here

That’s a huge chunk of it.
In Wisconsin we’re going to be taxing hospital services; and our governor appropriated the malpractice fund that the doctors privately put together to help keep costs down. Measures such as these certainly aren’t going to make it easier for hospitals operate, or drive down costs for the consumer.

Not entirely. It’s kinda a two way street. The insurance companies are putting the squeeze on the hospitals too.
Add to that the illegals bilking (as the law mandates care to them) the hospitals and between the two of them, plus the inability to pay of many Americans and the crunch happens at the bedside.
The bad news for the rest of us who have MED insurance, is that we pay HUGE medical isurance premiums …compliments of less hospitals and higher prices that the insurer’s need to pay to make up for the loses to illegals.
The hospitals can’t squeeze blood out of a stone. They gotta treat people or go out of biz.
Problem is you add ILLEGALS to that, and they push the slightly balanced affair into a nose dive.
This is one more reason why we can’t allow them here anymore.
It’s gonna be tight whatever but the illegals are the straw that breaks the camels back for many, many hospitals. Frequently it depends on where they are located.
One of the justices of cities that rate themselves as permitting illegals open and free entry to live/work, so called Sanctuary Cities, lose their hospitals quickly to bankruptcy. The illegals then need to drive to neighboring cities and so the bagging of hospitals go.

The public hospitals fail because they suck, anyone with half a brain and an insurance card will go private. In Los Angeles many people have bled to death while waiting to fill out the paperwork. I believe reverse discrimination is one of the major culprits. Their biggest customers are the poor and the undocumented I’d rather be treated by a Vet then spend 5 seconds in the public hospitals of Los Angeles County. If every illegal alien disappeared form the planet the Hospitals would still be staffed with the same people which means that you’d still get the same service.

No, there is no evidence to suggest that that is the case. This is a piece of propaganda circulated by anti-immigrant activists because it appeals to reason and makes sense to most people.
The only care that hospitals are required to give to illegal immigrants is emergency stabilization. This generally takes no more than a few hours and can be done by EMTs or nurses. Once an illegal immigrant is in stable condition, he/she can be denied further treatment. So the cost really isn’t all that great.

An Illegal cannot apply for Medicare without the proper US documents. Since they are illegal they clearly do not have this, and you do not know what you are talking about. People need healthcare regardless of their immigration status. It would be just sick to leave them dying on the street.

No. Your assessment is incorrect although you are very close. One of the main reasons is because illegal aliens do not pay their bills or pay into the system. If they did pay their bills or pay into the system there would be no (or less) deficit.
