How many hospitals are in Chicago and which ones are the best ones?

Alyssa asked:

How many hospitals are in Chicago and which ones are the best ones? I will soon be an RN and want to work in a good hospital in the Chicago area. I have never been to Chicago so I do not know what it is like there, where I will live, or how far away my workplace would be. What are your experiences with the Chicago hospitals?

There are 215 hospitals in Chicago. Northwestern Hospital and the University of Chicago Hospital are both very nice, but I think you would like being a nurse at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital. It is in a relatively safe neighborhood on the north side of the city and it is a teaching hospital.

There are literally hundreds of hospitals in Chicago and the suburbs. In my opinion, the best hospitals within Chicago itself are Rush, the University of Chicago, and Northwestern.
